We believe that young people need a safe and nurturing space where they can learn and grow as a whole person.

So we take a holistic and adaptive approach to learning, which we believe happens both in the classroom and beyond. We start by building relationships based on trust and mutual respect. We work with each young person to create an individual learning plan tailored to their needs and goals. And we set clear boundaries and expectations – we’re always firm but fair.

Many young people need to build their confidence and self-esteem to learn, and much of our care and commitment is focused on this. Instead of defining a person by their behaviour, we work to understand them through this and overcome their barriers to learning.

Our safe and supportive environment helps to unlock both academic and personal development in young people who have found other school environments challenging. We’re working to shape good citizens and equip students with realistic plans and goals for life after Break Through.
