Break Through School is proud to celebrate a significant professional achievement by its Principal, Ruth Elliott, who has successfully completed a Diploma in Trauma-Informed Practice at distinction level.
This accomplishment reflects the school’s ongoing commitment to creating an environment where every learner feels safe, understood and supported. Trauma-informed education sits at the core of Break Through School’s ethos, and this achievement further strengthens the school’s whole-community approach to meeting the needs of young people who may have experienced adversity.
Alongside Ruth’s Diploma course, SLT and wider staff have had Trauma-Informed training to ensure the core tenents are embodied in all we do. These courses have helpef develop advanced knowledge of the science of trauma, including its impact on learning, behaviour and emotional development. This expertise continues to shape the school’s approach, supporting the implementation of consistent, compassionate practices across classrooms, pastoral systems and wider support structures.
